Assurance Of Learning Program:
At the Asian Institute of Management, we strive to achieve and maintain an environment of excellence in all our business education programs and assess the success through Assurance of Learning activities. In 2008, AIM established the Assurance of Learning (AOL) Program to assess learning in the Institute. Today, AOL is slowly transforming teaching practice and culture across degree programs in AIM.
A good measure of the transformation is done through Assurance of Learning activities, which ensures that learning goals of all degree programs are aligned with the Institute's mission. AOL also ensures that learning happens for students, by monitoring and evaluating learning goals and objectives in all degree programs.
As part of our commitment to quality, AIM adopted specific learning goals for all its degree programs, which is assessed on a periodic basis. From the assessment results, improvements are identified and implemented in the curricula and pedagogy as part of the "closing the loop" activity in the AOL process.
The Asian Institute of Management is accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB-International), the premier accrediting agency and service organization for business schools worldwide. AIMs graduate programs meet their rigorous standard of excellence.
In January 2011, the Assessment and Resource Center of AACSB spotlighted the Asian Institute of Management's AOL Center. They described AIM's passion for implementing assessment processes through its degree programs. AACSB also mentioned the assessment efforts of the Institute in developing an "E-learning Portal" which brings transparency about learning goals to faculty, students, and community.
Criteria for Excellence in Business Education:
* Clarity and alignment of the programs target market and value proposition with AIMs mission.
* Alignment of learning goals and objectives with the program goals. The program goals highlight the Institutions vision and mission.
* Promote continuous improvement through the development and implementation of outcomes assessment process specifying where, how, and when the programs learning goals and objectives will be assessed.
* Develop and enhance students in the business programs to develop attributes, such as skill building, accountability, and networking.
